Depart from our terminal for one day trip from Athens to Delphi to explore one of the most famous archaelogical sites of Greece. Along the way, you will see the plain of Beotia, an agricultural center  and you will also pass by the city of Theva, the birthplace of King Oedipus.

You will continue your Delphi day tour towards Mt. Parnassos, making a short rest stop outside the town of Levadia.You will drive then to Delphi. known in ancient times as the navel of the world. Pass by Castalia Spring, visit at the archaeological site and view the monument of the Argive Kings, the treasury of the Athenians, the Athenian Stoa, the Polygonal Wall, the monument of Platea and  the Temple of Apollo famous for its oracle and  Delphi museum, with it’s spectacular exhibits include the frieze of the Treasury of the Sifnians, the Naxian Sphinx, the Statue of Antinoos the metopes of the Athenian treasury, the famous bronze Charioteer, originally created to commemorate a victory during the 476 B.C. Pythian Games, and many other artifacts. After lunch break, visit Athena Pronaia Sanctuary, the most photographed spot in Delphi. Return to Athens passing by the picturesque mountain village of Arachova, built on the south slopes of Parnassus, well known for its attractive hand-woven carpets, rugs and quilts, as well as for its wine and cheese (short photo stop).

El paisaje ,camino al Santuario de Delfos,empieza a tranformarse de árido a majestuoso e imponente y es montañoso ,pasando por la zona de la trágica Tebas,hasta las faldas del monte Parnaso,después de Arahova. Bajo dos peñascos gigantescos,los Fedriades,sobre un impresionannte acantilado del monte Parnaso , fue fundado en la antiguedad el famoso oráculo de Delfos , donde fue adorado Apolo,dios de la armonía y de la música,guardián de las leyes sagradas de Zeus.Para los antiguos , Delfos era el centro del mundo , el llamado “ombligo” de la Tierra.Desde muy pronto el Oráculo de Delfos adquirió gran influencia en todo el mundo conocido de aquellos tiempos.Los vaticinios de la sacerdotisa de Apolo,cuyo nombre era Pitio,influían notablemente en la toma de decisiones individuales y a veces tenían una enorme repercusión en la historia de las ciudades y Estados de la antigüedad . El dios hablaba a través de ella en una lengua incomprensible que escuchaban e interpretaban las sacerdotisas. Recorremos la Vía Sacra que subía hasta el templo de Apolo y estaba decorada con innumerables ofrendas de ciudades griegas y extranjeras , además de las estatuas , las ciudades dedicaban al dios,tesoros para albergar las ofrendas en forma de pequeños templos. Se visita también uno de los edificios mas importantes que se encuentran en la Via Sacra , el Tesoro de los Atenienses. Vemos el segundo santuario de Delfos en importancia , era el consagrado a Atenea Pronaia.
Visita al Museo de Delfos : uno de los Museos mas importantes de Grecia , que alberga los hallazgos encontrados en la región .En el vestíbulo destaca un Onfalos ( ombligo) de piedra del periodo romano y partes de un friso con escenas de las hazañas de Hércules. De las piezas que sabemos se grabarán en la memoria la estatua del ” Auriga de bronce”, el presunto joven conductor del carruaje del sol , INIOHOS.
